Dr. Hu joined UC in 1999. He conducts research in the general areas of Computer Architecture and Operating Systems. He was the recipient of a 2000 National Science Foundation Career Award . He has published papers in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Computersi and IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and in almost all leading conferences such as International Symposium on Computer Architectures (ISCA), International Symposium on High Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA), ACM Joint International Conference on Measurement & Modeling of Computer Systems (SIGMETRICS), USENIX Technical Conference (USENIX), Conference on File and Storage Technologies (FAST), International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS), International Conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP), and International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design (ISLPED). He also holds two US patents. He served in program committees of several major international conferences such as P2P'2004,P2P'2005 and HPCA'2002. Prior to 1995, he was an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Huazhong of University of Science and Technology. Dr. Hu is a Senior member of the IEEE.
