Keynote Title:  Why we don't design correctly?

The design process will be discussed as it is done today and show through examples why we do not do it correctly. The place for simulation in the design process will be emphasized and how it is not applied very well, consistently, or enough through out the design process will be highlighted.

Brief Biography of Dr. John Hines

Dr. John Hines is a Senior Scientist in the Platform Connectivity Branch of the Information Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright Patterson Air Force Base Dayton Ohio. He has over 25 years experience in design technology and the development and design of large systems and systems of systems. He was the Deputy Air Force Program Manager on the Very High Speed Integrated Circuits Program and was responsible for all of the Design Automation Technology for the VHSIC program including the development of the VHDL language. He is currently involved with the development of large high bandwidth wireless networks for the Air Force of the new millennium. 


He holds B.S. EE and Ph.D. EE Degrees form The Oklahoma State University and the M.S. EE Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
